Hey everyone - so I got home from my holiday at 5am yesterday, and have been hiding under my duvet ever since with a chest and sinus infection, hurrah! I did these swatches and pictures before I left so my immune system can just about handle me uploading them.
These are $1.50 each...$1.50!
L-R: Pumpkin Pie, Heredes, Fig, Narcissus, Flame and Eros
Fig, Heredes, Pumpkin Pie
Pumpkin Pie - a peach nude, a ruddier version of Orange Soda which means it doesn't wash out as much especially on pale skin tones.
Heredes - when I first swatched this it seemed like a very dated colour, one that perhaps my mum would wear. However on my lips it comes out as a fairly nice burnt orange. Definitely more suited to a work environment if you're still looking for a wash of colour.
Fig - very similar to Tea Rose which I also have, but it's less mauve. A great everyday colour.
Overall the formulation of NYX lipsticks are very pigmented and creamy - but just like their expensive counterpart, the YSL Rouge Volupte - this means that they have very little lasting power. The packaging is sturdy and whilst I've seen a few people have had problems with the lipsticks breaking out of the holder, I haven't had this problem myself. There's no real noticeable scent to me, which is good as because of the price I was worried they may have that awful chemical scent associated with some brands. Something I should mention is that the swatches on the websites aren't the best - so definitely look around blogs to get a more accurate colour.
If you're looking for cheap, cheerful, intense colour then you need look no further!
