I really can't believe I haven't seen any tweets or reviews about this! It's been out in the UK for around 2 weeks I think - I got mine off Look Fantastic for £46, along with some Babyliss wavers which I'll review soon.
First impressions - some shadows are stellar, some left me disappointed. This palette is the biggest yet - about the size of a hardback, so it's not very portable. To be honest - if you're looking for a neutral palette you're better off with NAKED or if you want colour, the other palettes seem to have just as much (if not better) colour options. It's very pretty - but if I'm paying £46, it's the quality I'm after, not the packaging. My favourites are Bender, Hijack and Bust.
Blue Bus (cobalt blue with purple undertones, not great pigmentation), Gunmetal (dark grey, as featured in the NAKED palette, very buttery), Cobra (dark brown with green/gold shimmer - looks nothing like it does in the pan, just a murky brown), Baked (also in NAKED - very buttery and pigmented copper, similar to MAC's Amber Lights), Bender (dark forest green with gold particles, brilliant colour payoff), Gravity (purple frost, new to Urban Decay, can apply a bit unevenly), Lost (dark bronzed brown, beautiful colour payoff) and Hijack (frosted teal, alright pigmentation).

This is definitely the neutral (and glitter mad) half of the palette: Midnight Cowgirl (peachy gold with glitter, smooth but considerable glitter fallout), Sin (champagne frost, also in NAKED), Midnight Rodeo (light taupe brown, with small amounts of glitter, buttery), Crystal (silver with purple undertones, poor pigmentation, new + exclusive to this palette), Bust (medium taupe brown with a slight frost - amazing pigmentation), Missionary (frosted beige, lighter than Sin), Skimp (peach beige with minimal frost, very nice neutral shade) and Zephyr (pastel yellow with minimal frost).

You also get a full sized 24/7 liquid eyeliner in Perversion, Supercurl mascara and a travel sized Primer Potion.
The eyeliner has a really nice thin tip - shame I'm TERRIBLE at liquid eyeliner - I really didn't want to show this picture! It's pretty fluid and doesn't drag, and it's about as black as black can get. The mascara has a great brush, curves right to my lashes and doesn't clump.
The speaker isn't great - but I wasn't expecting it to be, I find it a bit gimmicky. But check out da CHOONS!

Bender looks amazing! I love UD palettes - I have the Alice in Wonderland one and I still love using it 2 years after buying it!

Lovely palette I remember the first book of shadows when it was sold for £25. Big jump in the price:0)
ReplyDeletei like the shade in this palette, but i still think the NAKED was better
ReplyDeleteHaha Spice Girls ftw! Shame about the few dud shades (and I think the speaker and QR code tutorial deal is a bit....weird) but the first set of swatches look beautiful to me!
